Aims

To develop a new scholarly field of implementation research focused on low carbon innovation and evidence related to the environmental impact of healthcare

Map the policy and regulatory environment shaping the uptake of lower carbon approaches to delivering care. Identify key areas requiring change

To provide implementation and evaluation support for other work packages, as well as wider projects and programmes associated with decarbonisation and improving environmental impact

Methods

• Novel research on the relevant national policy, regulatory systems. Qualitative research involving interviews, document analysis and case studies​
• ‘Collaborative’ implementation and evaluation research alongside existing projects to deliver change (within the GHH and in the wider healthcare system​
• Aggregation and re-analysis of individual project work to develop more systematic understanding and develop a bespoke framework for implementing evidence on low carbon care
