Objectives
- To map the processes, practices, stakeholders, and policy and regulatory context related to medicines management within NHS England, from procurement to waste management, and identify, characterise, and quantify inefficiencies therein that contribute to avoidable environmental impact.
- To identify, critique, and learn from existing interventions aimed at reducing the environmental impact of health systems’ medicines management, and their barriers and enablers.
- To design, implement, and evaluate policy and/or practice interventions to reduce the environmental impact of medicines management
- To engage with key stakeholders across the medicines management system to widely disseminate the project and its results
